Fossilized Coral wire wrapped pendant

I found these really pretty fossilized coral beads about 2 months ago, and have been just letting them sit around on my beading table until I had some sort of idea. This morning I decided to use copper wire, some small copper beads, and Swarovski crystals and came up with this design. I think I will also do another one, with a different design, using silver wire.  This piece is also in my store.

Making new jewelry from old pieces

A friend of mine showed me a clunky necklace that had very pretty beads, but was just too big for her. She asked if I could “do something” about it. Ahhh… the open ended “do something”….one of my favorite tasks. Anyway, here are the before and after pictures. I took this one big necklace and made 4 pieces (adding some silver beads and wire along the way). The resulting pieces were perfect for her.

Blue and Silver Fused Dichroic Glass Pendant

Hello and welcome to my blog! I have been designing and creating jewelry pieces since 2003 using fused dichroic glass, lampworked beads, sterling silver, and a variety of other materials. I live in Alaska (the south central portion–near Anchorage) and my artistic endeavors are clearly influenced by the beauty of the gorgeous scenery. Join me in my passion for jewelry design and glasswork.
